Choose your sleeve coverage first, then your size. Chimpjunkie rashguards have a close compression fit. Short sleeves leave more of your arms uncovered; long sleeves provide full arm coverage. Neither sleeve length means you should automatically choose a larger or smaller size.

Use the product’s size guide

1. Open the exact rashguard you want and find its size guide.
2. Follow that guide’s measurement instructions. If it lists body measurements, measure your body; if it lists garment measurements, compare with a garment as instructed.
3. Compare your measurements with the chart rather than relying only on your usual T-shirt size.

Check your movement

A close fit should still let you move comfortably. When trying the rashguard on, raise your arms, reach forward and bend your elbows. Check for uncomfortable pulling around the shoulders, chest or underarms. Sleeve length and body size are separate choices.

Care for the fit and stretch

Your washing routine helps preserve the fabric’s elasticity and fit. Follow the garment’s care label, and use these points from our rashguard washing and care guide:

• Wash after each training session. If washing has to wait, hang it up to air rather than leaving it damp in your gym bag.
• Turn it inside out and use cold water, a gentle cycle and mild detergent.
• Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
• Hang dry in a ventilated space away from direct sunlight. Avoid tumble-dryer heat, which can damage the fabric’s elasticity.
